Protein Balls

1 & 1/2 Cups Sunflower butter or Cashew Butter

1/2 cup Honey

1 & 1/3 cups Rolled Oats

1/2 Cup Vanilla Protein Powder

1/8 tsp Salt

1/2 cup Mini Chocolate chips

  1. In a microwave safe bowl, add the sunflower butter and Honey.
  2. Place in the microwave and warm up for only about 20 seconds. You just want to be able to easily mix the two so it will also easily incorporate the rest of the ingredients too. Mix these two together
  3. Add in Protein powder and salt. Mix.
  4. Add in Rolled Oats and chocolate chips. Mix
  5. Scoop into desire size and place in the fridge.

*Im going to add below a few random bits about this that may help you but also may be a fun addition*

First off, When scooping into the desired size, I personally love scooping them onto a plate and then putting them into the fridge. Then wait for a few hours and put into the desired container for storage in the fridge. This way they firm up first and when they get into the container, they don’t melt together and make it difficult trying to separate them. This is not a necessary step, it is just something I have figured out on my many times of making these.

Protein Powder, you can use whatever kind you want. It really doesn’t have to be vanilla. Recently we picked up some Gainful protein powder and they have it where you can add in flavoring to the mix. Well we picked up the strawberry of that kind. But you add the strawberry flavoring to the entire protein powder package. So you end up with strawberry flavored protein powder. This ended up being a really delicious protein ball with the strawberry flavoring. I actually recommend trying a different protein powder flavor. It’s a fun way to change up the flavoring.

Also the Sunflower butter or cashew butter, you can really use whatever type of nut butter you want. Peanut butter, almond butter, whatever you prefer. We just have a nut allergy in the house and have found only a few groups we like to use for our nut butters. We stick to the sunflower and cashew butters. Since Im the one writing the blog, I figured Im going to write it true to how my family makes this. This way I can really give you the true knowledge of how these recipes turn out! I don’t want to write the recipe with different ingredients when I haven’t tried it. Yes, I do give recommendations on how you can substitute different items but you do not have to try those if you prefer not to!

These are my go to “snack” for the morning so I don’t have coffee sitting right onto my stomach. I like trying to give it something to sit on and help my stomach. A little pre breakfast snack! But also the in the middle of the day and Im hungry but don’t want to go for chips, this is my fix! With the different flavor combos, you really can change it up whenever you want! So it won’t be a recipe that you get bored with too fast!
