Chocolate Cake
2 cups all purpose flour
1& 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup hot black coffee
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
- In a big bowl, mix together your flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a new bowl, mix eggs and sugar together. Then add in vanilla and milk. Next add in vegetable oil. Lastly add in Black coffee.
- Slowly add in dry ingredients into your wet ingredients.
- Once this is fully mixed and incorporated, then you can put into your spray baking pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
- Let cool on the counter
This cake was so moist and delicious y’all. We used this with the butter cream for Bentley’s birthday cake. This will most likely be our go to plan for future cakes. Unless obviously someone wants a vanilla cake. But for any chocolate or chocolate based cakes in the future, this will be the one we keep around. At some point, I plan to make a recipe book for both my kids. But I want to make it for recipes that are staples to our family. I think this will end up being part of that book!
This cake was used for our birthdays last year too so I know its a trust worthy recipe. It also is a very easy recipe to use. I loved this one through and through!
