Cheesy Roll Recipe
1 1/4 cups warm water
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. active dry yeast
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
3 3/4 cup all purpose flour
Prepare a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper.
Using a stand mixer, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast to the bowl. Let proof for 5 minutes.
Add oil, salt, egg, and flour (1 cup at a time) to the bowl. Mix until combined and then let it knead the dough for about 4 minutes. The dough will be fairly soft. (Too much flour will make the rolls dense. You want to mix in just enough flour so that you can form it into balls with oily hands).
Spray your hands with baking spray and shape dough into 15 individual balls.
Place dough in a prepared 9×13 baking dish and cover with a dish towel.
Preheat oven to 375 F and place pan on top of oven and let the dough rise while your oven is preheating.
Bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the top of the rolls are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and brush the top with melted butter before serving. Enjoy!
The picture added to this blog has a few things in the photo. This blog we are only focusing on the cheesy roll recipe. We have the Yellow Squash Tots Recipe out as well. But we also made our own homemade tomato soup. That one will be out at a later time.
This cheesy roll was a fun play on a grilled cheese sandwich. It wasn’t the same thing but it definitely tasted similar. I absolutely also enjoyed dipping this into the tomato soup. As Im writing this, I am noticing a pattern. I can’t have tomato soup without dipping something into it. Apparently the soup cannot be on its own. How dare I!!!! Haha
Anywho, this meal all together was a delicious simple and easy meal. I could see this being a recipe that we use to make and then freeze them. A good winter stock up item so we do not have to do a ton of cooking in the summer when we are already hot. Ok I’m starting to plan some. I think I’ll spend the winter working on stocking up the freezer with things we can pull out during the summer to eat and not have to use the oven as much. Maybe cut the use as much as possible and rely on cooking on the blackstone or grill! I’m liking this idea!!!
