It’s good to see y’all again. Let’s grab our coffee and sit down to have a nice chat. I thought we would take some time to sit back and see what we have accomplished with the time off from being sick. With 3 months of not being sick, we were able to accomplish a lot around the house and a bit outside.
I figure this may go better if we do like a list type dynamic to explain everything we have done. It may not look like much but I will be flat out honest, there is actually a lot of items I am forgetting. Shoot this week alone has been a tad crazy and I am forgetting everything I have done! So it may not seem like much but let’s figure this out!!
-Canning
-freeze drying
-cleared out the pantry
-made a massive baby gate inside
-got a couch
-decorated for Christmas
-trip to PA
-big cookie mix day
-put up more shelving
-started a ginger bug
-started kombucha
-started seeds
-cleared some of the garden
-direct sow planting
-got tattooed
-cleaned out the house
-started affiliate links with companies we uses regularly
-planned the garden
-just took time to be a family
-Bentley and Mandy had colds for a month. Bentley was really bad.
-had multiple massive baking days
-made our own supplements
-big outdoor homestead clean up day
I think that’s all…. I really am not sure what else we did that I am forgetting. Well obviously because I forgot.
This time I just felt like almost like we did a lot of catching up. Like we weren’t horribly off in any way but we managed to do the catch up things. Like our freezers were full but a lot of the items we needed to process in the freeze dryer. Well we got that taken care of. Did we absolutely need to do that? No. We genuinely were just fine with how we were set up but it was nice to get these things done.
Especially with the garden right around the corner, we need to get the indoors prepared and ready so we can go crazy with the outdoors when its nicer weather. I know we will be outside soon working on getting the space prepared but once the nice weather is here, we will be going like crazy!!! We have this plan to get the freezer stocked with the breads and such so we can just pull them out as needed. I’m hoping to not be baking much in the summer. Basically fill “slow season” with the baking so the summer time we can be outside as much as possible.
I am so darn excited! I will come back and explain that plan a little more and also dive into the starts that are currently going in the house. Garden hint, it’s the year of the tomato in this household!!! Oh and we have new preserving ideas too for these tomatoes. Make sure to come back and see what we are doing next!!!
