Peanut Free- Nut Butter Blossoms

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup butter, room temperature

1/2 Cup Sunflower Nut Butter, room temperature

1/2 Cup granulated sugar, I use cane sugar

1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed

1 Egg

1 Tablespoon Milk

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1 3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour

1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1/2 Teaspoon salt

1 pack of Sunflower Nut Butter Cups

Instructions:

Preheat oven two 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl mix together butter and sunflower nut butter. Once combined add in sugar and brown sugar, mix. Next add in egg, milk and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl combine All purpose flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly add and mix in the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Once everything is combined, scoop batter into desire cookie size onto your tray.

Cook for 8-10 minutes. Make sure to turn the trays half way through. While the cookies are baking, unwrap the sunflower nut butter cups and cut them in half. Once cookies are baked, pull them from the oven and immediately place half of the sunflower cup into the cookie. Place onto a cooling wrack.

Usually when you see a recipe you will see the explanation of why you need this recipe in your life. Why this recipe will just be the game changer in how you live. But Im that person that just wants to know how to make the recipe and if I want to read the story they provide, I will. Usually, I hate to say it, but that’s not my go to task. I typically just want the recipe, hence why I have placed the recipe above. I can’t do to you all what drives me nuts. Haha.

Now with this above recipe, I use the sunflower nut butter and sunflower nut butter cups from Trader Joes. We have to keep my daughter away from peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, sesame seed and coconuts. With that, nut butters are the biggest struggle we have to finding an alternative. Thankfully we have found trader joes has a few options available!

With the struggle of nut allergies we are able to eat any nut that she is not allergic to but there are still chances of cross contaminations in facilities. So if we want some sort of nut, like walnut, I will actually hand crack those myself so we can have a safe product for her. This is just one of the recipes we love but alternate to fit our life with a child with a nut allergy. Not gonna lie, I actually like these better than the original. Sorry, not sorry. Sunflower nut butter is better than peanut butter. Not missing a thing!
