Day 1
1 Tbsp grated ginger
1 tsp sugar
3 tbsp clean ginger.
Mix all of this in a jar and let it sit on the counter. This is similar to like a Kombucha or Sourdough and you need to feed it daily.
Day 2-6
1 tsp sugar
1 Tbsp Ginger
3 Tbsp Water
Add these once a day and mix.
Day 7
You can add the mixture to fruit juices, root beer, ginger beer, kombucha and herbal tea.
Once you use this you can feed the starter with the day 2-6 measurements and continue on until you can make more drinks.
You can either feed this daily or you can put it in your fridge and feed it periodically. Do not forget to burp this daily when you have it on the fridge. I was experiencing pressure issues in the bottles when trying to mix with the fruit juices, so I think next time I need to burp it more often than what I was. I kinda had to take a step back from this as it just kept exploding and I barely got any to drink. That’s my cue to step away and let it go.
Now I wont lie, I threw mine away but next time I will be putting it in the fridge and trying it out that way. It was just time for me to step away and that was my logical choice. May not have been the best idea but that was what I had at the time. Now for a ginger hater, I actually enjoyed this with the fruit. When drinking it from a cup, I did add a little bit of stevia to sweeten it but thats not mandatory. Do whatever makes you happy!!!
